Turning complex, manual reconciliation processes into clear workflows for comparing data and resolving discrepancies.
Cartwheel automates accounts receivable for staffing organizations, connecting the systems they already use to streamline invoicing, payments, reconciliation, and cash flow management.
Product Design
Reconciling two versions of the same invoice.
Invoice data could exist in two different versions, with some line items changing between them. The challenge was to make those discrepancies easy to identify, clearly show the source of each value, give users control over which information to keep, and provide a clear view of the final invoice before completing the reconciliation.
Turning business and technical requirements into a product experience.

I worked closely with business and technical stakeholders to translate business goals and technical constraints into clear product requirements. This meant understanding what users needed to see and decide, while identifying the dependencies and edge cases the experience needed to account for.
DESIGN PROCESS
Turning discrepancies into decisions
01 — Make discrepancies obvious
Help users quickly identify what changed between the two versions of an invoice.
02 — Make the source visible
Make the source of each value clear so users can quickly compare discrepancies, determine what’s correct, and choose the information that should carry forward.
03 — Make the outcome clear
Give users a clear picture of the reconciled invoice before they commit their changes.
